Madonna Dell'olivo
Madonna dell’Olivo is a farm that takes its name from an ancient shrine dedicated to the Holy Virgin, located nearby. Founded in 2003 by Antonino Mennella in Serre, in the province of Salerno, it stretches across the hills that slope gently toward the ancient excavations of Paestum. This privileged location, characterized by a unique microclimate, is ideal for the cultivation of the family’s centuries-old olive trees. With passion and dedication, Antonino strives to enhance the particularities of each cultivar, producing world-renowned monovarietal extra virgin olive oils.
The olives, still harvested by hand and milled in just a few hours in the family mill, give rise to an oil that is one of Serre’s culinary specialties, known and appreciated as far back as 2,000 years ago. The reality of Madonna dell’Olivo, appreciated above all for its production of monovarietal oils, makes use of the fruits of more than 2,000 trees included in an olive grove that covers an area of 6 hectares, confirming the company’s commitment to the enhancement of the olive-growing heritage and the promotion of Italian culinary excellence in the world.
